Overview

Council adopts a Capital Works Budget each year to ensure our assets are well maintained. As part of Council's 2024/25 Capital Works Budget, $21.9 million is invested in upgrades and renewals of our extensive road and transport network to benefit our community.

In addition to specific projects, Council also includes larger regional projects such as the Regional Bitumen Reseal Program and Regional Gravel Resheet Program to ensure we renew our transport infrastructure assets to keep them in good condition.

Regional Bitumen Reseal Program

This ongoing program involves renewing the bitumen seals across the existing road network. Various sites are selected for reseal according to the condition rating and bitumen seal age. In the 2024/25 budget, $3.75 million has been allocated to the program.

Regional Gravel Resheet Program

The Gravel Resheet Renewal Program focuses on renewing the pavement across the existing unsealed gravel road network. Council has allocated $5 million in the 2024/25 budget for the program.

Regional Road Resilience Program

Council has allocated $1 million in the 2023/24 budget for the Regional Road Resilience Program. This project focuses on upgrading vulnerable assets to more resilient assets, such as floodways. This project is a special initiative to fund ‘build back better’ projects identified through the delivery of the 2021/22 Flood Damage Restoration Program.
