Western Downs Regional Council operates a network of Aerodromes and Aircraft Landing Areas throughout the region, providing an integral transport hub for private, flight training, agricultural operations and commercial charter flight operations, as well as providing vital facilities to emergency and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Chinchilla Aerodrome

ICAO Airport Code: YCCA

Established in 1967, Chinchilla Aerodrome is a CASA Certified Aerodrome, utilised by private operators, flight training operators and emergency services. 

Location: 3km to the south of Chinchilla

Address: Aerodrome Road (off the main Chinchilla-Tara Road)

Dalby Aerodrome

ICAO Airport Code: YDAY

Located 1.2km North of the Dalby Town Centre, Dalby Aerodrome is a Non-Certified Aircraft Landing Area (ALA).

As the busiest airfield in the Western Downs region, the aerodrome is mostly used by small light aircraft for both training and private use as well as a high volume of agricultural aviation activity. Dalby Aerodrome also sees regular visits by emergency services and daily return air freight services.

Undergoing a major expansion in 2013, Miles Aerodrome is a CASA Certified Aerodrome, utilised by private operators, regular commercial charter flights, flight training operators, emergency services and the Military.

Tara Aerodrome

ICAO Airport Code: YTAA

Located 12km North of Tara Township, Tara Aerodrome is a Non-Certified Aircraft Landing Area (ALA). Tara Airfield is mostly used by small light aircraft for both training and private use, with the occasional charter flight transiting workers to and from work.

Dulacca Airstrip

Un-controlled Aircraft Landing Area

Dulacca Airstrip is an area defined as reserve for the purpose of aircraft landing. It is an undeveloped landing area that is used primarily by private aircraft.

Meandarra Airstrip

Un-controlled Aircraft Landing Area

LANDING APPROVAL AND CONDITION REPORT REQUESTS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR THIS AIRSTRIP

Meandarra Airstrip is a mixed use facility located just a few minutes from the township of Meandarra.  The Airstrip is mostly used by agricultural aviation companies and private operators.

Moonie Airstrip

LANDING APPROVAL AND CONDITION REPORT REQUESTS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR THIS AIRSTRIP

Moonie Aerodrome was established to serve the community developed around Moonie Township. The aerodrome is primarily utilised by the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) and local aircraft.

The aerodrome is officially classified as an Aircraft Landing Area.
