Western Downs Regional Council is home to a variety of parks and recreational reserves.

We know the parks of the region are well-loved by the community, and Western Downs Regional Council is committed to maintaining an improving the parks to ensure they remain a favourite for our locals and visitors.

Parks and Open Spaces

The Western Downs is home to many beautiful parks, gardens, recreation areas, and playgrounds that Council maintains and provides for the livability and enjoyment of the local communities and visitors to the region.

National Parks and Botanic Gardens

The Western Downs region has access to unique national parks and botanic gardens where you can experience the natural beauty of our special part of Queensland. We are home to the world famous bunya pine as well as one of Queensland’s unique botanic gardens that contains many of Australia’s botanical treasures.

Campgrounds

The Western Downs was built for Camping. Our tranquil waterholes and well equipped camping sites offer relaxed spaces under big skies for a short stay, or as home base while you explore the Western Downs.

Trails and Tours

Walking and Historic Trails criss-cross the Western Downs highlighting natural and historic landmarks, discover them today.
