Chinchilla Archers Inc. - TAA National Muster
In October of 2023, competitors ranging from Far North QLD down to the NSW/Victorian border travelled to the Western Downs to compete in the Traditional Archery Australia Inc. Sixth Annual National Titles.
A total of 102 archers competed over the weekend in a range of competitive and novelty challenges, with many of the competitors choosing to stay and experience the Western Downs region before and after the event.
The diligence and dedication of the volunteer committee of Chinchilla Archers Inc. was seen in the many hours of organisation in the lead up to the event, coordination throughout the weekend, and assistance in clean-up of the course and venue after the event.
In addition, the event also allowed other community groups, such as the Apex Club of Chinchilla and Brigalow P&C Association, to raise funds to support their respective organisations. The event also featured guest speaker Mary O'Brien from 'Are You Bogged Mate?', who spread awareness about men's depression, suicide and mental health in regional areas.
The Western Downs Regional Council would like to acknowledge the time and effort spent by the Chinchilla Archers Inc. The committee continually demonstrate what goes into organising and hosting incredible events each year.
The Local Events Program is support for local social, cultural and sporting events that celebrate our unique experiences, what is great about our region, achieve regional participation, connect our community and activate our parks, open spaces and community facilities.
