Arts, Culture & Heritage
You don’t have to travel far to experience amazing arts and cultural experiences in the Western Downs region.
Our region boasts a rich fabric of art and cultural events, with everything from small volunteer run museums to cutting edge contemporary art galleries.
Local events and festivals provide the community and visitors to our region colourful and exciting opportunities to participate in the arts. The Western Downs has a strong performing arts scene, and celebrates all types of creativity, with everything from live music to local theatre groups.
We support local artists and community through the Regional Arts Development Fund, and Regional Arts Services Network - state-wide initiatives of Arts Queensland. We aim to increase arts engagement in regional Queensland through building capacity, strengthening networks and celebrating stories.
